GATE 2017 Exam Overview :

The GATE 2017 Application form submission process closed and examination was conducted by the GATE examination authority in February 2017. The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is conducted by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) and IISc and is one of the toughest examinations of India. These are top most colleges of India who offer the Post graduate courses and Ph.D. courses to B.TECH/B.E graduates through GATE EXAM. The GATE 2017 examination will be conducted by the IIT Bangalore. In GATE 2017 Examination, aspirants can only apply for one of the disciplines from 23 streams. Many PSU’s and private company’s recruit’s candidate on the basis of their GATE Score Card. The GATE exam is used to analysis technical skills as well as mathematical and logical skills. The gate score is valid for three years afterward marks will expire.

About IIT and IISc: The IIT’s and IISc are the autonomous public colleges which provide higher education to the students in India. These institutions are controlled by Institutes of Technology Act, 1961 implemented by the government. There are total 23 IITs are located across the country. The first Indian Institute of Technology is IIT Kharagpur and it is started in 1951. This year GATE exam is conducted by IIT Bangalore campus. GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria :

Educational Qualification

• The aspirants must have a B.TECH/ B.E./Pharm/ B.Arch. degree from a government recognized University.

• The aspirant who has Master’s Degree in from any stream Science and mathematical stream, as well as, can apply.

• The aspirants who are pursuing graduation and are in final year of graduation are eligible for GATE but they have to take NOC from their respective colleges.

• Diploma Holders in any field are not eligible for the examination.

Age Limit

• There is no upper age limit in GATE EXAM but they should have their graduation degree with them.

Minimum age required- 21 years.


• Candidates should be Indian.

GATE 2017 Selection Procedure :

Generally, the GATE 2017 Selection Procedure is of 3 stages: Registration form, online exam and at last counseling of the selected candidates. We will explain you better by providing steps regarding it.

As the Admit Card of GATE 2017 were issued from 5th January onwards while the examination was conducted on 4th, 5th, and 12th February. Hall ticket is of prime importance at the exam center, timing, date of exam, all are mentioned in it. Candidates have to bring this admit card to get an entry into the examination hall.

GATE Cut off 2017 :

GATE 2017 Cut-Off Marks are the minimum marks required for a candidate to qualify in the examination.
