As we know, SSC CGL Tier-I examination over on 23rd August 2017 and almost 14 to 16 lakhs candidates have successfully appeared in CGL Tier-1 exam. As we know CGL Tier-I examination is over but preparation has not been over because CGL Tier-2 exam will be conducted from 18th  to 20th January 2018. SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern 2018

  • Paper-I. Quantitative Abilities (100 Questions) (200 Marks)
  • Paper-II. English Language & Comprehension: (200 questions) (200 Marks)
  • Paper-III. Statistics (100 Questions) (200 Marks)
  • Paper-IV. General Studies (Finance and Economics) (100 Questions) (200 Marks)

There is negative marking for wrong questions. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in English Language & Comprehension and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in Paper-I, III, and IV.

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus 2018

Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time & Work, Time and distance, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Triangle, Graphs of Linear Equations and its various kinds of centres, Circle and its chords, Congruence and similarity of triangles, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Quadrilaterals,  Triangle, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Circular Cone, Sphere, Right Prism, Right Circular Cylinder, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Hemispheres, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Complementary Angles, Standard Identities, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart

English Language & Comprehension: Spot the error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spellings/detecting mis-spelt words, one word substitution, idioms & phrases, improvement of sentences, conversion into direct/indirect narration, active/passive voice of verbs, shuffling of sentences in a passage, shuffling of sentence parts, cloze test & comprehension passage.

Statistics for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation: Collection Classification and Presentation of Statistical Data, Measures of Central Tendency, Measures of Dispersion, Moments, Skewness and Kurtosis, Correlation and Regression, Probability Theory, Random Variable and Probability Distributions, Sampling Theory, Statistical Inference, Analysis of Variance, Time Series Analysis, and Index Numbers.

General Studies (Finance and Economics) for the post of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer in Indian Audit & Accounts Department under CAG.

  • Part-I: Fundamental principles and basic concept of Accounting
  • Part-II: Economics and Governance: Comptroller & Auditor General of India, Basic Concept of Economics and introduction to Microeconomics, Finance Commission-Role and functions, Theory of Demand and Supply
