The locations comprise some of the cities and states such as Allahabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Guwahati. SSC also contains two sub-regional headquarters at Raipur and Chandigarh cities.

The Staff Selection Commission is going to announce the statement for GD Constable Examination to recruit applicants for the post of GD Constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen. The whole recruitment process will be completed in four stages including Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), computer based test and at the last the medical test. Those all applicants who qualifies written examination, will be eligible for medical test and those candidates who qualify medical test will be appointed as GD Constable Posts.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria before applying through online or offline mode. Educational Qualifications: Candidates for the posts of GD Constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen must have a degree or diploma of minimum 10th Pass from a recognized board or educational institute.

Age Limit: Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 23 years. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per the government rules. The upper age limit relaxation provided to SC, ST, OBC candidates.

How to Apply :

  • Then go to the Registration segment.

  • Get yourself registered on the official web portal through part I registration.

  • Start filling the online Application form.

  • Fill up all the details inquired by the web page which may comprise your Name, Address, email. Mobile Number, Category Educational Qualifications etc.

  • Don’t forget to fill an identification mark inn SSC Constable GD. (The mark will be checked at the time of physical test.)

  • Pay the fees to confirm your registration that will only be considered after the payment of application fee.

  • Take a hard copy of registration form for future reference.


The application procedure for SSC constable GD will be in two steps. For part I registration candidates have to fill all the common details such as name, mother’s name, father’s name, address, email address, mobile number, category and so on. After completing full online form of SSC constable GD stage I aspirants have to click on submit button. By doing so, they will get registration number and password for the part II registration form. In part II registration candidates, have to enter educational qualification and then they will have to upload scanned copies of passport size photograph and signature at definite size.

Exam Pattern :

The examination for SSC constable GD posts will be in three main steps that are:


  1. Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test

  2. Written Examination (Objective Type) (100 Marks)

  3. Medical Test


The written examination pattern will be based on the newest form. There will be four types of objective type questions. There will be 25 questions for type and each question will carry one marks. For any wrongly answered question, 1/4th mark will be deducted.

Part A: General Intelligence & Reasoning


Questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.


Part B: General Knowledge and General Awareness


Questions in this section will be mentioned for checking candidate’s general awareness. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc.


Part C: Elementary Mathematics


Questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc. will be included


Part D: English/Hindi


Aspirant’s ability to understand Basic English & Hindi, basic comprehension would can be tested in written exam.
